Vibram enough arch support to make a difference
I had hoped Vibram Shoes shoes would give me something to wear when doing hot yoga, but it didn’t work out. I have plantar fasciitis and spending 90 minutes barefoot in my hot yoga class destroyed my feet. The lack of arch support was not “doable” for me. The instructor would not allow me to wear my running shoes in class, even for the part where I had to stand). It took a year and a half of wearing a night time foot brace to restore my foot to pain-free status.
I had truly hoped Vibram’s Vibram Bikila Shoeswould be low-key enough that the teacher would allow them and have just enough arch support to make a difference. Unfortunately they had zero arch support, so I returned them. I had hoped they would “save the day”, but they did not, I’m sad to say.
I never was a runner before I learned about barefoot running and tried it a year and half ago. Now I’ve run a marathon (my first race) a 5k an then 10k in myVibram Shoes . I can’t say enough about barefooting. I know people who’ve completely fixed their PF issues by going completely barefoot on their runs. It takes time, dedication, and a WHOLE lot of patience. When it comes to health and fitness, you have to take things slowly and cautiously. Listening to your body is key.
I’ve never understood arch support in vibram shoes. Why does an arch need support? Think about bridge building and how arches act as the main Vibram Bikila Shoes support for the bridge. If you put something under the arch to support it, it becomes useless. Strengthen your arches and you’ll stand up
